From Selma to Montgomery

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery march for civil rights, the Postal Service is offering a special envelope that illustrates the passion and determination of an event that was instrumental in the passage of the Voting Rights Act.

Deputy Postmaster General Ron Stroman recently unveiled the envelope designed by Alabama District General Clerk Marvin Owens. The envelope features an image from the march and a recent stamp depicting the 1963 March on Washington.Two versions are available: one with gold embossed lettering and one with blue embossed lettering. Each envelope is $5.

The 1963 March on Washington stamp sheet contains 20 stamps and is also available for purchase for $9.80 per sheet.

Ohio State Buckeyes 2014 National Champions

On January 12, Ohio State University college football fans were treated to a well-received victory when the Buckeyes won the national championship. To celebrate the team’s success, USPS’s Ohio Valley District is offering commemorative envelopes and matted art that captures the essence of the motivating victory.

Super Bowl XLIX Commemorative Envelopes

This year’s Super Bowl XLIX match between New England and Seattle will be remembered by fans for many years to come. To commemorate the special event, the Postal Service has an exclusive set of collectible envelopes that will offer football fans a unique souvenir keepsake to celebrate the big game.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers these limited-edition envelopes to celebrate the Super Bowl’s return to our city,” said Glendale, AZ, Postmaster Billy Garrett. “These colorful envelopes will be prized by stamp collectors and football fans around the country as unique mementos of this exciting Super Bowl matchup between New England and Seattle.”

Super Bowl envelopes are available in two designs. One features photos of each team’s starting quarterback (Tom Brady and Russell Wilson). The other envelope depicts the NFL’s Vince Lombardi Trophy and the official Super Bowl XLIX logo with a photo of the Grand Canyon as its backdrop. Each envelope, protected inside a clear plastic sleeve, features a U.S. Flag Forever stamp and official Glendale postmark. The price for each collectible envelope is $7.50.

Also available for $25 is matted artwork combined with the official Super Bowl envelopes. Customers can choose from a large photo of either quarterback in the professionally-matted presentation.
