In a letter to Moxee City, WA, Rural Carrier Tina Liniger, Postmaster General Megan Brennan praised the sound judgment and compassion Liniger displayed when she helped a small child find her mother and reunited a puppy with its owner. The following in an excerpt from Brennan’s letter:

“I want to commend your heroic actions and selfless display of civic duty. You deserve the highest level of admiration for coming to the aid of a little girl who wandered away from her home. Thank you for helping to reunite her with her mother. I also am proud of the sound judgment and compassion you showed by reuniting a puppy with his owner. Your willingness to assist in the child and puppy shows a genuine commitment to helping others. Thank you for the many services you provide to your community.

“Your efforts remind us all of the ties that bind communities and our country together.

“We are fortunate to have employees of your caliber represent this organization. Your story will be featured on one of the heroes displays at Headquarters. The displays feature photos of previous nominees and brief descriptions of their heroic acts and are updated monthly.”
