When an elderly customer recently became lost and couldn’t find her way home, the situation could have turned tragic if not for the assistance of a concerned Postal Service employee.

Boulder, CO, Valmont Station City Carrier Mandie Carbajal was on her route when she spotted the woman. The elderly customer appeared uncertain of her surroundings and Carbajal thought there could be a problem. Carbajal questioned the woman, and given the customer’s responses, called the local police department and waited with the person until they arrived.

The responding officer was impressed with Carbajal’s concern for the elderly woman and called Valmont Station Supervisor Tony Martinez to express gratitude to Carbajal for her concern for the woman and taking the time to stop and assist.
