Most Trusted Agency

The Postal Service ranks highest among all federal agencies in positive public opinion, according to a recent survey.

In mid-November, Gallup polled more than 1,000 adults in all 50 states. Nearly three-quarters of respondents agreed the Postal Service does an excellent or good job, scoring higher than the FBI, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NASA and nine other agencies.

The positive ratings stretched across all demographics. Seventy-three percent of women and 70 percent of men gave their thumbs up. Perhaps surprisingly, the highest marks came from adults ages 18 to 29, with 81 percent favorable ratings.

The poll results highlight the great job our employees do every day to meet our customers’ evolving mailing and shipping needs,” said Postmaster General Pat Donahoe.
