Saving Vanishing Species

Save Vanishing Species

Internationally known actress Kristen Davis is an advocate for saving the world’s elephant population as well as a proponent and user of the Save Vanishing Species semipostal stamp. She was on hand at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife (USFW) Ivory Crush on Nov. 14, the only event of its type in U.S. history. The USFW crushed more than six tons of ivory seized from illegal shipments in front of a crowd of more than 300 media and advocacy leaders from around the globe.

The Denver Post Office was at the event to sell the Save Vanishing Species semipostal stamps which help fund multinational species conservation efforts dedicated to improving the status of wildlife, including African and Asian elephants.

As of Sept. 2013, more than $2.4 million has been raised from the sale of the stamps.
