Unusual Items in the Mail

Unusual Items in the Mail

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! recently had a strange mail contest asking its readers to send in unusual items through the mail – without packaging.

The contest was held over a period of 12 weeks, and many interesting items were received. Besides shedding any form of packaging and placing both the postage and destination address directly on the item, there were no restrictions on what could be entered into the contest.

Weekly winners of the contest received a copy of the book A Curious Man – The Strange and Brilliant Life of Robert “Believe It or Not!” Ripley, while the grand prize winner had their choice of either a custom Bumble Bee Transformer or a Jack Sparrow sculpture, each measuring 3’ 4” high weighing 200 pounds.

Some of the more interesting items entered into the contest included a plunger, zucchini, and even a dog bone toy, but the entry that won top prize was a complete McDonald’s meal.

A complete list of the winners is available by clicking here.
