Many individuals and businesses routinely send items using expedited delivery services to countless destinations across the country. If those expedited deliveries end up arriving beyond the agreed time, some customers fail to pursue the associated money back guarantee refund. With the efforts of a new business venture, lost refunds could be a thing of the past.

A new company, 71lbs, is offering to track FedEx and UPS expedited delivery shipments for customers that sign up for its new service. The company will monitor the arrival time of time sensitive deliveries to determine when a package reaches its destination. If it arrives outside the guarantee window, the company will pursue a refund on behalf of its customer for the cost of the shipment, keeping half of the recovered amount for itself. A business that hires 71lbs doesn’t have to pay the company if there are no shipment costs to recover.

The company reports that more than $2 billion each year is left on the table by businesses that don’t pursue a shipping refund. It hopes that its new effortless cost recovery service will be enticing enough to business shippers to encourage them to reclaim the bulk of that lucrative amount.
