From the Small Screen to Mailboxes

From the small screen to mailboxes

Television programs have thrilled audience members for many decades. The creative talents of actors in these shows have inspired countless people around the world to laugh and cry with friends, family and colleagues over a variety of topical issues. To celebrate the success of one particular series, Royal Mail is releasing a stamp dedicated to past and present actors from a popular show.

The long-running Doctor Who television program will be commemorated by Royal Mail in a new stamp series based on characters from the show. Individual stamps from the collection will feature actors who played the part of The Doctor, an individual capable of traversing time and space to defeat his adversaries. The series will include all actors throughout the 50-year history of the show, including the current Doctor, Matt Smith. The stamps will be released in March of this year.

While stamps featuring current actors and other public figures are popular in many countries around the world, they are not currently included on postage stamps in the United States. Do you think they should be?
