The Star of the Show

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, NV, is the most widely anticipated technology trade show in the world. Each year, technology companies from around the globe gather to display their newest upcoming and prototype gadgets and gizmos. This year, one of those companies was one that reaches out to every home in America.

The Postal Service made a sparkling impression last week at CES. Besides showcasing the iconic Marilyn Monroe and other stamp issues, a new mobile phone application (app) was unveiled that will allow customers to interact digitally with print advertising.

The new app is expected to be available for download later this year.

I think the post office should make a video game app that lets people become a carrier and drive through neighborhoods deliverying mail. Or what about one that picks the perfect gift from the postal site to send someone based on search criteria entered by the user? Maybe a safety app that tells people how to handle different types of weather. Think outside the box, guys. Yesterday’s post office won’t make it tomorrow without more innovation.
