  1. Before my husband and I married, we were pen pals…back in the day before the internet. I still have the letters that we exchanged during that time, complete with 29-cent stamps!!

  4. When I was a child, it was 3 cents to mail a letter — 2 cents if not sealed — and a penny for postcards. Airmail was charged by the 1/2 ounce, and people used onion-skin paper to lessen the weight.
